Parent Awareness ("we", "our", "the App") is an educational reference application built for parents and guardians. We respect your privacy. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how to control it.
Account information you give us (only if you create an account): - Email address - Encrypted password (we never see your plaintext password) - An optional display name - An optional child's age range (used only to tailor conversation starters)
Information generated automatically by your device: - A randomly-generated device ID, stored locally on your device, used to remember your saved/favorite terms and your tip-of-the-day rotation. This ID cannot be used to identify you personally. - Standard server logs (IP address, request timestamp, app version) kept for up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
Information you voluntarily submit: - Slang term suggestions submitted via the in-app Contribute form. - Photos you choose to attach to those submissions. - AI-decoder queries (the text you ask the AI to decode).
| Service | Purpose | What is shared |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic Claude (via Emergent Integrations) | AI slang decoder & conversation-starter generation | The text you type into the decoder |
| MongoDB Atlas | App database | The data you knowingly create (account, favorites, contributions) |
| Expo Application Services | App build & delivery infrastructure | None (build-time only) |
We do not integrate Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, AppsFlyer, Branch, or any other ad/tracking SDK.
Parent Awareness is intended for adults (parents, guardians, educators). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, contact parentawareness2026@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: - Access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. - Object to or restrict processing. - Withdraw consent at any time. - File a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email parentawareness2026@gmail.com.
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We follow industry-standard practices and apply security patches promptly.
If you use Parent Awareness outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App you consent to such transfer.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the new policy.
